Full Moon Celebration - April
Our night of fire and fun went well last night. We had a great turn out keeping in mind that it is the Easter holidays plus also my Capoeira school has their Badizato on in Melbourne this weekend.
Gav, Tam, Farrad & I set up camp at about 5pm and at 6 we got dinner going.
Unfortunetly the wind had come up. The night before I rode to Kiama at 8pm through Minnamurra and I wasn't cold at all but because if this wind it was on the chilly side.
Becuase we couldn't sit still any longer huddled around a citronella lantern which gave off a considerable amount of heat we got things going early. We walked over to the sand and set up the lanterns but the wind was keeping the lanterns just on the verge of going out. We then moved around to the other side of a dune where the wind was ever so slightly less annoying.
Then I broke out the swords, Tam hit the poi and Gav got his staff and within about 5 minutes we were all taking our jackets off. So the plan sorta was DON'T STOP TWIRLING!
We went for about 2 hours and a lot of the crew had rocked up within that time and the beach was lit bright with so much fire. A mate from Capoeira came down but he was too much of a wussy to do anything becuase of the cold!
We had some people from Ireland amongst the sizeable crowd which gathered to watch. It's not hard to hear the accent and laughing.
Tamaryn and I got the drumming going and then all was well.

Then some 18 year old annoyng buggers were giving some of the girls a hard time. I told them to bugger off but afte a while they just shat me and the cold was shtting us all at about 10pm.
So then we packed up camp and went down the road to the nearest pub.
I say it was a great night. If the wind didn't blow then we would have more than likley stayed camping.

But hey, 3 hours of twilring in the freezing cold is fun. - Michael , posted 04/15/06
