In my experience, it was worth getting a few blocks away from the beach to find a good cafe. Brown Sugar used to be in North Bondi on Brighton, but there is another cafe there now. (The breakfasts at the place place in Brighton aren't bad either.) The guide I looked in had the new address for Brown Sugar, but the phone number went to the cafe at the old location. Strange and confusing. But once you do find Brown Sugar at 106 Curlewis St, you find a comfortable, casual place with wonderful, friendly service. For breakfast, the tofu scramble was delic. For dinner the fish pie was excellent. In future visits, I'll be torn between ordering those two dishes again and exploring the menu. They are open for breakfast and lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday. - hazy , posted 06/13/07 |
